How do I buy and sell items on the app? To buy items on our platform, simply tap the image of the item you would like to purchase, tap the cart icon and follow the checkout instructions.
To sell on our platform, tap the floating plus sign at the bottom of your screen. Fill out the form fields presented and tap the “List” button at the bottom of the page.
What is the Consignment Fee? Casuarina Thrift charges 20% per each item sold.
Can I shop on the app in my local currency? No. All transactions are done in USD.
Why is there a time limit at checkout? As we are a second-hand platform, generally only one of each item will be available for sale. The time limit reserves the item while it is being purchased to prevent double selling. When that timer runs out, the item will immediately become re-available for sale.
How do I get paid as a Seller? Sellers are paid directly to their bank accounts through online banking after they request a payout.
How do I request a payout? After one of your items is sold, click the “Sales” icon at the bottom of your screen. Then select “Request Payout”. A representative at Casuarina Thrift will receive this request and your payment will be processed within five (5) business days. You can only request a payout if the payment amount is displayed in the “Balance” section of the sales page. When paid, the amount will be displayed in “Earnings”
How do I add my banking details to my account? Simply tap on "Settings>Banking Information".
When does Casuarina Thrift release funds to Sellers? After the buyer has confirmed that they have received the item. It is recommended that the buyer inspects the item first before hitting “Review Purchases”.
How do I know what items have been ordered? When an item you listed is ordered, you will receive both an in-app and out-of-app notification. Check the “Sales” page on your account for the specific details of the order.
How do I get orders to the buyers? Barbados: All orders must be dropped off at our office in Silver Sands, Christ Church. We will handle the delivery and collection for you when this is done.
How do I know when my order is ready to be collected/has arrived? You will receive a notification stating whether your item has arrived at our office or has been delivered.
How do I confirm that I have received my package(s)? Upon receipt of your package, please log onto your account and go to “Settings>Review Purchase”. This allows us to know that you have received your item(s) and that you are happy with your purchase. If you choose to leave a review, it allows us at Casuarina Thrift as well as potential buyers to gauge an accurate understanding of what to expect when purchasing from that Seller.
Does Casuarina Thrift refund/return? No. Items can ONLY be returned if the buyer received an item that was advertised incorrectly (for example if an item advertised as new and is clearly used, has faults after being advertised as having none etc.). Sellers will incur a charge of $ 10 USD per return. It is recommended that you email/message us to file a dispute to be refunded. Be sure to have all of your purchase details ready.
How many days does the seller have to ship the items after orders have been made? Sellers have up to five (5) days to ship or drop off the items.
How long does the buyer have to mark their item as "Received"? We recommend that you notify us that you have received your package as soon as you've finished inspecting your items. If after ten(10) days of ordering, you have failed to input your delivery status, payment will be released to the Seller. This will also result in you no longer being able to return the purchase.
Can I cancel an order on Casuarina Thrift? If you purchase an item on our app, you are obligated to complete the transaction. However, we understand accidents do happen. Buyers may cancel accidental purchases through our platform within three hours from the time of purchase. We recommend that all users log out of their accounts when they are not using the app to avoid accidental purchases; this can create confusion and disappointment for our sellers.
Can I shop from sellers in other countries? Yes. For you to shop in a new country on the app, you must change your location in “Settings>Account Information> Country”. Please note that you must have an address in the listed country to shop.
How do I leave a review? After your item has been collected/delivered, go to “Settings>Review Purchase” and select the button next to the item you wish to review.
